New HD Local Network Launches on DISH Network – Detroit and St. Louis – Effective July 6, 2006 HD Locals are planned to launch in two additional DMAs – Detroit and St. Louis, effective July 6, 2006. This brings the total number of HD local markets to 26! HD Locals in these two DMAs will require a DISH 500+ or DISH 1000+ to receive them
DISH 1000+ allows you to receive programming from three orbital locations; 110°, 119°, and 129° using a dish antenna size similar to DISH 500+.

Standard Configuration: DISH 1000+ includes a DP Dual Band LNBF and two DP Dual LNBF. A DPP 44 switch must be used in all DISH 1000+ installations (up to 4 DPP receivers). DP Dual Band LNBF for orbital locations; 118.7°, 119° DP Dual LNBF for orbital location; 129°,
DP Dual LNBF for orbital location; 110°,
Models 2800, 6000, and 721 may display the 118.7 orbital locations in the Point Dish and Installation Summery screens as “119K”. Others will display the 118.7° orbital locations as "118" in these screens.
* All DISH 1000+ will need to be installed with a DPP 44 switch.
Receivers NOT compatible with DISH 1000+: (*no 129/118.7 support) 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, JVC-IRR, DISHPlayer 7100/7200
International Services Moving to 118.7 Orbital Slot DISH Network will begin broadcasting the following International languages from the 118.7 orbital location. This new orbital location will be viewed with a DISH 500+ (which also includes 110/119) or with a DISH 1000+ (including 110/119/129).

Installation Tips
• When using a pole mount for the 500+/ 1000+, a six to eight foot pipe made of 16 gauge or thicker galvanized steel with a 1 5/8” outer diameter must be used. The pipe must have at least 3 feet buried in concrete. • Struts are included with the mast kit (use is optional). • The skew angles differ slightly between 500+ and the 1000+. Use the correct peaking angles from the DISH 500+ and DISH 1000+ Installation Instructions. |
